Esztergom

by Mice007 on Oct.06, 2009, under Hungary

One of the oldest towns in Hungary. Estabilished around 970. It is only a hour of driving from Budapest so really easy to get there. Of course there are other options like a nice train or bus. I’d recommend everyone who travelling to Hungary to visit this place. It is easy to spend a full day there, the center of the town is large enough to allow a lot of walking and also there are several good restaurants, pizzerias. There are also a lot of things to visit or to take amazing photographs. The old buildings, streets are a very nice subject to everyone.

Few hours at Szentendre

by Mice007 on Oct.04, 2009, under Hungary

My mom had a class reunion in a restaurant at Szentendre. She asked me to bring her back to home when the party is over so I thought it would be good to have a walk there and to take some photos too at the most prettier part of this place. We were there for a few hours only but this is just enough to survey this part.  It is a relatively small area, basically a street called Duna korzó with many sights and beautiful houses, restaurants and shops. Here are the photos I took:

The new – old Szabadság híd or Liberty Bridge

by Mice007 on Jun.01, 2009, under Budapest, Hungary

The Szabadság híd or Liberty Bridge (sometimes Freedom Bridge) in Budapest, Hungary, connects Buda and Pest across the River Danube. It is the third southernmost public road bridge in Budapest, located at the southern end of the City Centre.

The reconstruction work is finally done after a half year lag. It looks better than before, not only because it has the fancy light but they put back several missing decoration items too.

Today I went to the bridge to take some blue hour photos, here are the results:

Spring (or summer?) is here

by Mice007 on Apr.30, 2009, under Hungary

So I was a bit away from my blog because the good weather is finally here. Of course this is good for viruses too so I just got something but still alive. To celebrate the spring we went with a couple of friends to the Zemplén. This is a big national park in the north part of Hungary. We spent almost a week there in a hotel, taking photos, walking in the forest. Also the place has a big advantage, no cell phone coverage at all so that little thing was in quiet for a loooong time :) To cut this short let me share some photos with you:

Night photos from the Gellért Hill

by Mice007 on May.29, 2008, under Budapest

Today, we went to a small hill very close to my place (about a 10 minute walk) and took some photos of the city. The bridge that you can see on some photos called Erzsébet Bridge (Elisabeth Bridge).

Tihany, Lake Balaton

by Mice007 on Feb.04, 2008, under Hungary

In the end of May we looked around in Tihany. This is the most beautiful town around the lake in my opinion. The north shore of the lake is better for the photographer due to the higher altitudes of the land and the historical places.

Visegrád

by Mice007 on Jan.04, 2008, under Hungary

This is one of the most beautiful places around Budapest. It is situated north of the city on the right bank of the Danube. Visegrád is famous for the remains of the Early Renaissance summer palace.
We were there in early autumn and had a very good weather for a walk around and also a new major point in my life… the first time I sat on a horse! Enjoy the photos:

Kőröshegyi bridge, Lake Balaton

by Mice007 on Aug.07, 2007, under Hungary

We were at Lake Balaton when the bridge construction finished in a small town close to our place. We decided to look around and went to the edge of a forest to find some tourist road. After an hour we found a fence that cut the road half and just realized behind the fence there is the new road and the bridge. You can see the rest of the story in the following pictures. On the third picture you can see a red arrow that shows where our road continues in the forest… mission impossible :)
