Trip to Italy, part 2: Jesolo

by Mice007 on júl.31, 2008, under Italy, Jesolo

After Klagenfurt we reached the Alps, the best part of our trip. There are many tunnels, viaducts, bridges and an amazing glacier river. We made a stop at a gas station right after entering Italy for taking a few photos. Here we saw a Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé in the parking lot, I was surprised how big is this car!
After the mountains the remaining route was a bit boring and the traffic became more noticeable. We finally arrived to Hotel Janeiro around 6 pm and after the paperwork we got a very good dinner at the restaurant of the hotel. The room was clean and good enough for a week. We bought a nice cooler box for this trip so the cold beer was ready to drink. :)
Later we left for a walk, there were many people outside already. After 8 pm cars were not allowed to enter the street of Lido di Jesolo. The street is really so long and it repeats itself so after a hotel there is a shop and then a gaming-room then a hotel again and a cloth shop then a gaming-room and then a hotel and so on.

Trip to Italy, part 1: Klagenfurt

by Mice007 on júl.28, 2008, under Austria, Klagenfurt

This year we planned to visit Lido di Jesolo by car. It is a small place in Italy but it is famous for its 15km long beach with a lot of hotels, shops, restaurants.
We left Budapest on 20th, Sunday and after a few hours of driving we arrived at Klagenfurt, Austria. This is a small city at the south part of the country, close to the Alps. We arrived here around lunch time so made a stop at the first good looking restaurant. It was fun because we only realized that it is an Italian restaurant after we got a “buon giorno” (means good morning in italian)  from the waiter. The food was very good and really Italian.
After the lunch we headed to the center of the city for a walk. The city is beautiful and there are several pedestrian zones surrounded by boutiques and mostly Italian restaurants. In the gallery bellow you can see how this place looks like.

The new Volkswagen Passat CC

by Mice007 on júl.18, 2008, under Other

So, it is here…   not a new generation but a new version of the current Passat model. CC means Comfort Coupe, it is a bit unusual because in most cases CC is more a coupe cabriolet. With this Volkswagen gave us four doors and a fixed roof.
Yesterday i went to the local Volkswagen dealer to check how it looks in real life. Well it is really impressive and it definitely has something that the standard Passat doesn’t. I’m a Passat owner so it was easy to find the differences and improvements over the standard model. The CC is a bit bigger but the lines running from the grill to the tail lights are more noticeable. The front of the car looks really good, i like it better than the conventional Passat. The back is nice too but i feel the lights a bit too big and here is an important note about the lights: It seems Volkswagen made a step back and put standard bulbs instead of some state of the art LED technique. This is too bad, the LED lights are great in many ways.
Inside the car the most eye-catching improvements are the touch screen color LCD and the new climate control under it. Also there is a new LCD between the gauges so no more black and red pictures. The new audio system looks really good and there is an SD card slot right under the main LCD display for MP3 files. This is the RCD-510 by the way, i think it’s worth the little additional price.
Here are two factory photos. I’ll post some of my own as soon as i have the opportunity to take some:
